About Me

Hello everyone, welcome to my blog!

My name is Matthew, I’m a young student of applied linguistics and an aspiring professional video games translator. Why, you may ask? Well, the reason why I’m studying languages (English + Italian) and engaging in all these projects is very simple: I’ve decided to combine my hobbies with work. What’s better than doing something you enjoy? My goal is to finally become a real professional and that’s why I decided to make Overtranslated, as I learn from writing and describing the problems I face.

This blog is dedicated mostly to indie games translations, although I will elaborate on other topics as well. Here I will post information about all the projects I’ll be working on, describe what I need to do and how, give some useful hints, do some brainstorming and hopefully help developers to spread the word about their wonderful games!

If you have any questions, send me an e-mail (overtranslated@gmail.com) or write to me on Twitter !

    1. Thank you! Generally I focus on PCs, since they are more ‘accessible’ to work on; I have nothing against translating console games but I haven’t done that yet. Although it happens that a game I’m translating is to be released on consoles as well. In such cases, I’m given additional lines of text to translate.
